Nawa sculpture is a 16 meters long by 7 meter high landmark in the center of Wroclaw, Poland. Created with the FiDU technology (metal sheet pressure forming), this piece is being constructed as a part of Wroclaw’s European Capital of Culture 2016 event. The ambition is to create a landmark and a distinct object, which by its’ form resembles a gate, the symbol of openess.

The sculpture is made of a several dozens of ultralight, durable steel arches composed in a form of gate. Its bionic form and polished surface reflecting the surroundings will create the effect of naturaly glowing sculpture with constantly changing look through the day.

Object’s role in the project was to develop a set of software tools to ease the design iteration, particularly by providing the designers with a precise and fabrication oriented environment. From the very beginning, the development of this interface was designed to meet the FiDU technology constraints and provide the user with an instant feedback on a set of specific fabrication parameters.
